Be greener

1- I estimated how much I used car and taxis in a week       2.500 kilometers.

     Then I calculated my total for a year ....                          2.500 x 52=130.000 kilometers.

2-  Then estimated how much I traveled by plane last year.  

      1 trip from Pereira to San Andres ....                                232.56  Kilometers.

3-   I estimated how much I used buses and subways last year

       and divided it buy two because you produce less carbon dioxide when you

       use public transportation....                                                20 Km x 52 /2=520 Kilometers.

Finally, add I estimates 1-3  together to obtain a total estimate.

My total estimated travel is 650.000 Kilometers per year.

MEMORIES

Years ago it was easy to go camping. People used the camping as space to relax, after they were walking for many hours when were  knowing the landscape.  Now the camping isn’t the part of activity.  It’s the activity to do when to wish in stay in a natural space.

Before the tourist industry was created, people were planning the camping, the boys were doing the bonfire and the girls were cooking the food while others friends were making the carp.

They saw more natural landscape, more green mountains and some wildlife.   The  animal’s extinction wasn’t a important topic.

People organized activities during camping, because everything is very quiet. 

You couldn’t use a cell phone, laptop, or tablet in the camping or naturals spaces, because didn’t exist this technology.

You couldn’t buy things on the Internet, play online games, use a search engine, to surf or write a blog, because didn’t exist the Internet

ENVIRONMENT

My name is Luz and I am writing this blog for my English Class about  the ENVIRONMENT

It´s the set of natural, social and cultural values in a determined place and moment, that has influence in the lives of humans and the future generations.

Everybody has to care of the environment:

How I take care the environment from my house:

• Recycle: Separate the components organics and inorganics garbage. In the organics components are the paper, cardboard, glass and metals.
• Turn off the lights that are not necessary in the rooms of the house
• Disconnect the domestic appliances when don’t use them.
• To recycle the cool water to go of watering-car when I take a shower, this water I can use to water the plants.

This is my to routine to collaborate my care for my environment and my family.
